International Student Admissions

Pitt's School of Education has always looked beyond the borders of the United States. In the 1960s, one of our faculty members, the late Rolland Paulston, became a leading expert in education reform in Latin America. In the 1990s, we partnered with institutions in Eastern Europe and China to modernize the operations of schools and universities in those regions.

Today, we're engaged with our neighbors in every corner of the globe. The Office of Child Development, for example, recently concluded a five-year partnership with caregivers in St. Petersburg, Russia, to improve the living conditions in the city's orphanages. A similar effort is underway in El Salvador. Maureen McClure is working with Thailand to rebuild schools there while Consuella Lewis is working on education policy reform to Zanzibar.

Work and Learn With Us

We want to remain active in the world community. But we also want the world's leading scholars and brightest students to come to the School of Education so that we can work and learn together.

Thanks to the Internet and the globalization of the economy, we're moving into an age where individuals will be able to impact world events on a scale never before imagined.

The world is depending on us to prepare today's children to participate in the global economy. We have to give tomorrow's world citizens the best tools to understand complex situations and act on them.

Support For International Students

Each year, more than 1,800 students from 100 different countries arrive at the University of Pittsburgh to continue their educations. The School of Education currently enrolls scholars from Argentina, China, Columbia, Kenya, Taiwan, and Japan.

Pitt prides itself on a wide variety of programs that help students from around the world.
