Academic Departments

The School of Education is divided into four departments, each bringing its unique strengths and perspective to the field of education.

Department of Administrative Policy Studies (ADMPS)

We educate future administrators, researchers, policy makers and professors, promoting not only knowledge and leadership, but also an underlying ethical base that guides decision-making and leadership.

Department of Health and Physical Activity (HPA)

We take an academic approach to sport, dance, exercise, health and wellness, offering degrees that prepare college professors, researchers, exercise specialists and health professionals.

Department of Instruction and Learning (IL)

We provide regional, national and international leadership in the study and improvement of teaching and learning in diverse educational settings. Many of our students seek teacher certification through our department.

Department of Psychology in Education (PSYED)

Our students pursue degrees in Applied Developmental Psychology, as well as Research Methodology. Our graduates go on to careers in teaching, research and professional practice.
