So, you're considering a career in education, perhaps as an instructor, an administrator, or a researcher? You've taken a step in the right direction by considering the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. We have some of the nation's best programs to prepare you to work as an exercise specialist, prepare to enter the teaching certification program, work in child care or to continue your own education in graduate school.

More Than a Degree

We build our programs on a foundation of the latest research. You learn the newest techniques (some of them developed right here at Pitt) and leave with more than a degree—you graduate prepared to be a leader in whichever career path you choose, from setting public policy to working as a specialist in a field such as child care, early childhood development, or health and wellness.

We also pride ourselves in placing our students in the field, where you can apply your classroom experience to the real world, learning as you help others.

And the University of Pittsburgh is one of the few schools that offers a fifth-year teacher certification program. You'll get a foundation in whatever specialization you choose, then spend your fifth undergraduate year learning to teach.

Apply Today

We offer two-year undergraduate degrees in three specialty areas, each designed to be completed in your junior and senior years. If you're a current student at the University of Pittsburgh, you must submit a supplemental application to the School of Education by February of your sophomore year.

If you are currently enrolled in a different college or university, you must apply to the University of Pittsburgh as well as to the School of Education. Please see our undergraduate admissions page for more information.

We hope you'll make the School of Education your starting point for a great career.
